Survival and safety tips for Officers
- Watch out for colors, indicators, weapons, signs, and tank art before making any contact.
- Develop reasonable articulable suspicion or a reason or cause.
- If manpower permits it, having a backup is highly advised.
- Adopt a professional methodology with command presence.
- Motorcycle off, kickstand up, helmet off, and hands interlocked on the head (OMG's).
- If a Terry Frisk is warranted, make sure that pat-down is completed thoroughly, tactically, and safely.
- Always keep in mind the gangsters carry more than one weapon at a time.
- Converse with someone who is assuming a leadership role. Generally, gang leaders stand in the front line.
